  • Handling variables

    Hi,

Just got OSCulator and discovering some of the amazing possibilities (with TouchOSC). I got a bit more confident after a couple of days and I'm trying to look at some of the more complex features: what I'm trying to do is create a control (such as a fader) which will determine the MIDI channel on which the other controls are sending on.

For this, I need a way to do some math (scale 0 to 1 to integers from 1 to 16), as well as referring to a value. I saw there are "variables" meta events in OSCulator, but for the life of me I can't figure out how they work.

Is the above possible? Is there some documentation on OSCulator variables anywhere?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey Scott,

I have an idea on how to do this, but it would be too cumbersome to setup because of the big number of combinations it would require. It makes me think that there is no way to dynamically change the MIDI channel of an event. I'll add it to my todo list, thanks for the suggestion!

    Best,

    Cam
