  • Strange connection activity

    Hi Camille,

Loving OSCulator and having a great deal of fun with it - so thanks! I'm using the iPad TouchOSC as a controller and have no problems using the sample layouts to connect to OSCulator. However, as soon as I create my own layout, and add it to TouchOSC, I don't get any response from OSCulator. If I switch straight back to a sample patch, the connection is fine.

Sorry if this is a TouchOSC thing and not OSCulator - I'm using the latest release of each.

    Thanks for any help,

    Andy

    Hey Andy,

Maybe there is a little problem with your layout, could you please send it to me?
You can use my email, or attach it on this forum's thread.

    Best,

The problem is simple, but you were not supposed to know:
In TouchOSC Editor, the OSC address of the controls is made from the name you give them. In the OSC protocol specificition the space character is not allowed inside a OSC address, therefore TouchOSC Editor should have either warned you that the names contains a space, or replace them with another character, like underscore.
Just change your layout to remove the space characters from the name of the controls.

Oh so simple! Isn't it always the way?

Many thanks for the efficient support.

          Cheers,

          Andy
