  • Can't get separate instruments to sound separately

    Hi there all,

I'm having some trouble in OSCulator and Cubase 4.

So, in Cubase I have given each instrument track a different MIDI channel number (e.g. 1 for a sampled cow, 2 for the sound of a violin) and I apply these sounds to the Wii Controller through OSCulator (e.g. the sampled cow on the A button [to channel 1 in osculator], the violin on the B button [to channel 2 in osculator]), but regardless of the MIDI channel numbers in both programs, both sounds are produced together when I press either button. This usually happens because both tracks are record-armed, but I wanted them to sound separately on the different buttons.

    What am I missing here?

    Thanks for all your help,

    - Paul B.

    Hi Paul,

I may be wrong, but it looks like it is a Cubase limitation.
Here is a post on another forum that made me think it is not possible to record multiple channels at once from external MIDI:

      problem solved

Hi camille, thanks so much for your reply. I followed the link to the Cubase forum that you shared, and there I learned about something called the "Input Transformer" within Cubase which has allowed me to do just as I wish!

Apologies for my ignorance of another product,
and wishing you all the best for OSCulator!
