  • osculator crashes with wiimote

    Hello

We use osculator with a wiimote, nunchuk and motion plus. The computer is maximum at 5 meters from the wiimote, and we run a clean install of snow leopard on a 4 years old macbook pro.

The data often stops transmitting while the wiimote is still connected by bluetooth, and we experience some crashes of osculator. When this happens, we have to force quit osculator and rerun it to reconnect the wiimote.

Have you seen such behavior before?
Do we need to reinstall osculator?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Joseph,

This is not a normal behavior.

At first sight, I don't think this is something that can be fixed in OSCulator. As explained other threads, once the connection is established between the Wiimote and OSCulator, there is no reason for the data to stop flowing except low batteries or low signal.

I would suggest you try the latest beta, because it fixes a corner bug that deals with Wiimote connection.

Please let me know if you have better results with this version.
If not, I will have some more detailed questions for you.
Maybe you should consider using another bluetooth adapter to boost your computer's signal; 5 meters is a bit extreme with a 4 years old MacBook Pro without even considering all the RF noise.

    Best,
    Cam

      Hi Camille,

Thanks for your quick answear, and sorry for my late one.
We have much better results with an external bluetooth adapter.

      Thanks again
