usb mouse capture

Hi,

sorry if this is very basic, but I searched around and couldn't find any info on it.

I'd like to translate the movements of a usb mouse device (specifically the joystick on the icon icontroller which for some odd reason they've decided would be best to work as a mouse....!) into midi control.

The best would be if it would also deny the joystick from affecting mouse movements in osx.

Any pointers are most welcome, thanks.

You might want to try ControllMate: http://www.orderedbytes.com/controllermate/
tho I'm not entirely sure this application will let you take exclusive control of your device.

ControllerMate does what I want, although it does not cancel out the mouse acting as a regular mouse at the same time.
