  • Non repeating values from Wii accelerometer???

    Hi
Is there any way to change the range of values coming from the wii accelerometer? Instead of mirrored values which go from 0 to 1, and then back to 0 again, i would like to use values from -1 to 0, to 1, or some variation on this. The values dont need to be bipolar, so long as the cover a 360 degree range, rather than a repeated 180 degree range.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

i think ive answered my own question! what i meant in that question was for when using pitch roll and yaw specifically. but i guess thats what the raw accel data is for?

      Hi electriceel,

      As you noted:
The pitch, roll, and yaw cover a repeated 180º range.
You can compute a full range outside of OSCulator with Raw accelerometer data.

If your Wiimote has an integrated MotionPlus extension (check for the Wii MotionPlus INSIDE tag on the remote or get yourself a MotionPlus extension), you can get a little more flexibility by activating the "Cyclic mode" (as opposed to the "Continuous mode" opted for accelerometer only pitch, roll, yaw angles).

      Best,
