  • Controling cutoff (or stuff like that) with wiimote in logic

    Hi!

I wanted to map for example roll to a cutoff knob of a soft synth (moog modular, and the synths in logic).

But I only managed like 0-127 (on or off, which isn't that fun).

Any ideas on how to make it go smoothly up and down?

    Thanks!

Hmmmm, looks like a problem with MIDI CC interpretation in Logic.

There are several ways of receiving MIDI Control Changes in Logic. From Logic's documentation :

    Format Pop-Up Menu

Choose the encoding format for negative values in the 7-bit portions sent over MIDI. The choices are:

    - Unsigned: No negative values are possible. The full 7- or 14-bit range is treated as a positive number. The value range is 0 to 127 (7 bit) or 0 to 16383 (14 bit).

    […]

I guess the input format should be Unsigned.

Sorry, I can't say much but I am pretty sure Olivier would be able to answer that question ;-)

Yes, the trick was to go in to expert view and change mode from "relative" into "direct". And unsigned input.

Then it worked like a charm.

Thanks for the lead! It's great that you've got so good support in the forum.
