  • Sending note + velocity from touchOSC on iPad

I'm using Osculator with touchOSC on the iPad. It's working great and I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I'm having trouble triggering notes and sending velocity at the same time.

I've seen the relevant sections in the manual and in a couple of forum posts, but it's still not working for me.

    Here's what I'm doing:

Setting push1 message to event type MIDI Note w/Params, value to fader1.

Setting fader1 message to event type Note Params, value to Velocity.

This works fine with the fader setting controlling the velocity of the note, but the note sent when using event type MIDI Note w/Params is always C3. How can I set the note to another value?

Thanks for your help and for a great app!

    Hi John,

If you don't care about polyphonic velocity, I would suggest you use the much simpler MIDI Note approach:

Assign a MIDI Note with the correct pitch to the pad you want to use as a trigger, and assign the Channel Velocity event found in MIDI Note to your fader. I think that will do what you want.

    Best,
