  • Kyma notes

    Hi there
I’m running Oscillator 3. I can’t find Kyma notes (or anything to do with Kyma) like it shows in manual. Any ideas please?
    Thanks

    Hi MWAU,

Kyma Notes and Kyma CC are shown only if a FireWire connection to Kyma is detected.

Kyma doesn’t use a FireWire connection anymore...you can connect via Ethernet. Can this be changed please?

These events are specific to Kyma Notes and Kyma CC, as defined by the Flame protocol (the one over FireWire). It is a form of MIDI but with greater resolution. Some users are still using the FireWire interface, so it cannot be changed.

However, if you want to send OSC messages to Kyma, you could conveniently build a list of pre-defined OSC messages in OSCulator, and save that list to a file, in order to re-use them in other mappings. There is nothing really specific about the messages you can send to Kyma (because you can re-map them afterwards), this is why OSCulator does not provide OSC messages for Kyma right off the bat.
