Dear OSCulator Community,
It's with mixed emotions that I announce the ending of OSCulator's development and support, effective December 31, 2024. After nearly 17 years of incredible experiences, discoveries, and collaborations, the time has come to close this chapter.
OSCulator has been more than just a software project. It's been a gateway to working with exceptional artists and creative professionals, an opportunity to delve into the intricacies of device driver development, and a platform for exploring human-machine interaction principles. Through OSCulator, I've had the chance to provide dedicated support and build a community of users.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to every user, artist, developer, and supporter who has been part of this journey. Your creativity, feedback, and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind OSCulator's longevity and success. The decision to end OSCulator's run wasn't easy, but it has become necessary due to several factors. Apple's constant changes to their APIs and the increasingly complex (though necessary) security requirements have made maintenance increasingly challenging. Additionally, the persistent Bluetooth 2 bug preventing Wiimote pairing has been a significant obstacle. These technical hurdles, combined with the growing difficulty of maintaining the project to the standards you deserve, have led to this decision.
As we move forward, I encourage you to explore alternative solutions and continue pushing the boundaries of creative technology. Your innovative spirit has always been at the heart of OSCulator, and I'm confident it will carry you to new heights in your future endeavors.
Starting today, payments are no longer being accepted. The website and forums will remain accessible until the end of the year for archival purposes, allowing you to retrieve any necessary information or resources. OSCulator will then cease all operations on December 31, 2024.
Looking back, I'm immensely proud of what we've achieved together and grateful for the opportunities this project has provided.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Your support and creativity have made OSCulator what it is, and I'm deeply appreciative of the time we've shared.
With gratitude,
Camille Troillard
