  • Animate OSC value over time

Is there a way to animate OSC values over time with OSCulator? I'd like to be able to send a single OSC message to OSCulator and then have OSCulator increment and send an OSC message value 30 times per second. This would have the effect of animating a slider in an OSC host like Resolume or VDMX. My best guess at the moment would be to use Apple Script but I'm not sure what's possible with Apple Script (can I create timers, can I trigger additional OSCulator events, etc).

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Soulfresh,

OSCulator does not have OSC generators, but you can do one in VDMX:
The LFO and Step Sequencer plugins are both used to generate control data that changes over time. This tutorial is an introduction to using them to control the opacity of a layer.

For Resolume, I'm not 100% sure if that what you are looking for:

Hi Cam! Glad to be back on the forum. Ive been working a lot lately, always using OSCulator : )
+1 for the possibility to Animate OSC values, like this:

      Address /layer1/video/position/speed
      Argument 1.0
      Time 5.0 Sec
      End Argument 4.5

So that the OSC value increases from 1.0 to 4.5 over 5 seconds

Would be such a great ad to your fantastic app...

In this way you could animate a slider as Soulfresh was asking for.

Hope to hear from you soon. All the Best. Eurotrash
