  • Calculating Wiimote Plus linear velocities from raw/linear accelerations?

    Hi,

I'm using a Wiimote Plus via OSCulator to control Ableton Live; all is well. However I'd like to derive the Wiimote's linear velocities as well as the accelerations. I figure this needs a bit of calculus maths to integrate the acceleration values, and I'm aware that there'll be drift and cumulative error. But has anyone tried this? I reckoned a MaxMSP patch might be a contender?

    Many thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

I understand you are talking about fusing accelerometer and gyroscope data to compute an absolute position and orientation. This is the kind of computation that OSCulator does, but just for orientation. I don't know of any Max patch that would perform this computation.

You may find some info in the last post of this thread, but that's not very technical: http://www.osculator.net/forum/threa...us-Yaw-Problem...
