  • Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch - Osculator doesn't recognize touch?

    Greetings,

I recently acquired a Bamboo Pen and Touch and, opening the Osculator Wacom file, i don't get any key presses on the wacom registered, nor finger presses. Is there a work around for this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Hugo,

I have a couple of fixes that will be released this week that should fix the Wacom express keys. I can send you a build today if you like.

The touch events however, won't be recognized as they are not handled by the Wacom driver but as some sort of mouse.

Are you able to get pen events?

    Best,
    Camille

Hello Camille, thank you for the fast reply.

Basically, i want to get the Wacom information into Max/MSP, and i'm using osculator for it. Is there some sort of max external i should try instead?

I am getting pen events except for the tilt one. I am also getting eraser events too.

So the touch events is a no-go, no matter what Wacom i'm using?

      Best regards,
      Hugo

Yes, I fear OSCulator won't be able to help here.
I don't know which external to suggest but you look at mouse input related ones.

          Hmm I see.
Could you send me the build to fix the express keys anyway please? I'd love to use them as well.

Keep up the great work and customer service.

          Hugo

                Hello Hugo,

After verification, I see I gave you the wrong information.
The keys on the Bamboo Touch tablet are delivered as keystrokes, hence not handled by OSCulator.
Please see this discussion with a Wacom engineer:

                Dear Camille,

Bamboo gestures are delivered to applications as keystroke events or scroll messages, as outlined in the attached table. To support Bamboo touch functions, your application needs to respond appropriately when these keystrokes are received.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Now it makes sense, thank you Camille. I got it all working now as if they were keystrokes.

                  Best regards,
                  Hugo
