  • 700 Hz tone

    Hello,

I'm trying to use Osculator to get my morse-code key working with my Mac.

I intend to hook up the key to a chopped up USB gamepad which is then connected to my Mac and thus Osculator.

My confusion is how I can achieve the function of a 700Hz tone being played only when the key is pressed.

I haven't had any luck finding a simple midi program that will produce a note with no attack or decay.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

Screenshot 2016-03-09 18.43.16.pngLogic Pro has a tone generator you can use. If you had Logic Pro I could create a template for you to do exactly what you need to. In the environment window of Logic Pro I'd make a macro that would trigger with a note press and create a gate for the test oscillator. The test oscillator is a consistent tone so a gate needs to be created. I'd make a button reflecting a button on the wiimote or device you're using and when pressed that button will send to a switch that opens the gate which could control the sends of a channel strip swapping from one clean strip to a muted or no output strip. So the effect would be instantaneous.
